Description

Strong franchisee–franchisor relationships are essential to a successful franchise system and a healthy brand. But even the best systems can face challenges—miscommunication, misaligned expectations, or tensions around changes, performance, or support. Left unchecked, these issues can escalate and impact legal standing, reputation, and system stability.

This session will explore practical tools and proactive strategies franchisors can use to prevent and manage relationship breakdowns. The panel will cover how programs like advisory councils, field visits, training, and performance tracking can be used to build trust, encourage accountability, and support system-wide engagement.

With a blend of legal and operational insight, and real-world examples from those managing franchisee relationships daily, participants will walk away with clear strategies for addressing tensions early and supporting long-term success and brand consistency.

Learning Objectives

1. Explore proactive strategies franchisors can implement across departments—from operations and field support to legal and executive leadership—to prevent relationship breakdowns before they occur.

2. Identify key programs and tools that support healthy franchisee engagement, such as advisory councils, training programs, regular field visits, intranet updates, system-wide communications, and performance reviews.

3. Learn how well-managed relationships contribute directly to long-term system success, franchisee satisfaction, and brand consistency—and how to resolve challenges collaboratively when tensions arise.
