Jason Tsoukas leads the commercial legal practice at McDonald’s Canada where he serves as the Head of Commercial Law. Prior to joining McDonald’s, Jason was the VP Legal & General Counsel at Foodtastic Inc., a leading franchisor of restaurants in Canada as well as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at the Chicken Farmers of Ontario. Jason practiced corporate and commercial law in New York City and Montreal before transitioning his career to in-house counsel. As a legal leader, Jason distinguishes himself with his practical, innovative and empathetic leadership style. Jason holds degrees in Civil and Common Law from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Master of Laws (LLM) from Tsinghua University in Beijing. A graduate of the Rotman-CCCA Business Leadership Program for In-House Counsel, Jason earned the designation of Certified In-House Counsel – Canada (CIC.C) and was a finalist for the CGCA Mid-Market Excellence Award in 2024. Jason currently resides in Burlington, Ontario, and in his free time, enjoys cooking for his family – fitting for counsel whose in-house career has taken him from farm to table!
