Etienne-René Massie is the Director General of the Small Business Branch at Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) Canada. In this role, he is responsible for oversight of entrepreneurship, small business financing, small business research, Indigenous economic development, cooperative and consumer affairs policy areas for the federal government. The Branch is also responsible supporting the Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade in her interactions with stakeholders and Canadians on small business matters. Prior to joining ISED, Etienne worked for 12 years at Employment and Social Development Canada in a variety of roles including policy integration, disability programs, international affairs and as a senior advisor to the Deputy Minister.
