As the franchise sector continues to see a greater female presence, there are a wide range of programs available in Canada to offer advice and guidance to women looking for a route into the industry. With complicated financial, legal, and operational waters to navigate, starting a small business can be overwhelming. In this panel discussion, we’ll take a comprehensive look at the various programs available offered to women in small businesses; walking you through eligibility and how to access these programs. Roundtable | It can be daunting to put yourself out there on social media! However, getting involved in social media has become critical for business success. In this roundtable discussion, you’ll gain insight into how to overcome the confidence hump to use social media as both a marketing tool for your personal brand, as well as a platform to inspire others to achieve their goals, how to use social media to create a personal brand for yourself and tried and true tips, tricks, and success stories to help you produce social media content that is empowering, engaging, and inspiring. | The importance of having a mentor can’t be overemphasized. They’ve been there, done that, and know exactly what it takes to achieve your goals. As a mentee, you’ll be paired with a successful franchising professional who can provide the concepts, values, and support you won’t find on the internet or in books. It’s an invaluable opportunity to receive first-hand guidance from mature mentors who’ve gathered years’ worth of industry experience. Becoming a mentor is empowering. Not only does it give you an opportunity to “pay-it-forward” (helping to nurture franchises at the early stages of growth), but it can also be rewarding professionally and personally (expanding your network and providing fresh insights to your business). Join this roundtable discussion where you’ll gain valuable insights into the pathways towards becoming a mentor for a budding entrepreneur or how to connect with a mentor of your own to get strategies straight from the source. | In our fast-paced, digital world, it can often be difficult to draw the line between work life and private life. This roundtable discussion will explore how women in the franchising sector can achieve their personal and business goals while clearly defining their work-life balance boundaries and will share tried and tested strategies to set – and maintain – these boundaries, schedule time to work more efficiently, and how to apply these strategies to our new work environment, where working from home is the new normal. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
