For more than a decade, Derek Robertson been a trusted advisor to key decision-makers within provincial administrations across Canada. Notably, he was a Ministerial Advisor to the BC Minister of Health during the declaration of the Opioid epidemic in BC, played a pivotal role as Senior Policy Advisor to the Ontario Minister of Transportation during the announcement of the Ontario Line, and was Director of Policy to the Minister of Labour, Training, and Skills Development during the initial stages of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Preceding his time with the Canadian Franchise Association, Derek gained extensive private sector experience, leading the Canadian government relations efforts for an American tech start-up.

Derek currently serves as the CFA’s Senior Manager, Government Relations, bringing his vast public and private sector experience to assist the organization with its advocacy efforts.
