(www.platzandassociates.com) John has personally negotiated in excess of 180 collective agreements in a variety of industries with a heavy emphasis on the hotel sector spanning 40 years. These agreements were all negotiated within the prescribed mandate with only four strikes and one lockout. He has successfully completed training and consulting assignments in the hospitality, energy, manufacturing, financial services, high tech, public and not-for-profit sectors. He provides his signature monthly offering, Employer Advisory Service to approximately 80 active clients.

During his corporate days, he has also held the position of Vice President Human Resources with a number of Canadian companies including Weston Bakeries, Griffith Laboratories, Livingston International and Commonwealth Hospitality. He also occupied the senior role with Brunswick Mining & Smelting, a former subsidiary of Noranda. He oversaw all facets of human resource management such as industrial relations, recruitment, training and development, health & safety, performance management, compensation and especially change management.

John is Past Chairman of the Hills of Headwaters Tourism Association, past board member of the East Wellington Family Health Team (EWFHT), past Chairman of Regional Tourism Organization #6 (Central Counties Tourism) and past board member of Equine Canada. He is currently a board member of a global for-profit company.
