Description

Franchising provides everyday Canadians with a great opportunity for business ownership and women are now turning to the franchise business model in increasing numbers. According to a report released by the International Franchise Association (IFA), female-owned franchise businesses account for approximately 30 per cent of the market. Five years ago, female franchise-owners accounted for 20 per cent of the market.

As the franchise sector continues to see a greater female presence, there are a wide range of programs available in Canada to offer advice and guidance to women looking for a route into the industry. With complicated financial, legal, and operational waters to navigate, starting a small business can be overwhelming. In this panel discussion, we’ll take a comprehensive look at the various programs available offered to women in small businesses; walking you through eligibility and how to access these programs. We’ll also explore the organizations and programs dedicated to getting women into small business so you know where to turn when you need assistance throughout your franchising journey.
